Homemade donuts recipe

No idea what dessert to make this evening? Try this authentic homemade donuts recipe and be sure that your family will love it 🙂

Homemade donuts are just the best!

Ingredients for approx. 20 medium donuts:

  • 800 g flour
  • 300 ml milk
  • 20 g yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 30 g sugar
  • 20 g powdered sugar
  • 20 ml of sunflower oil for the dough
  • a bit of salt
  • vanilla flavour or other flavour like orange/limon
  • sunflower or other type of oil for frying the donuts

Steps to follow:

  1. In a bowl put half of the flour, the 2 eggs, the sugar & the salt
  2. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk
  3. Pour half of the milk & yeast on top of the other ingredients and mix with a spoon
  4. Once well mixed, put the rest of the milk & yeast and flour and start mixing again (you can use the kitchen robot machine or your own hands, for a more authentic result, I advise to use your hands 🙂 )
  5. Pour the oil as well and continue mixing for another 5 minutes until the dough is soft as in the video below 
  6. Now let it rest in a warm place, until the dough doubles in size (approx. 4 hours)
  7. After that we can start making and frying our delicious donuts 🙂
